Once again, it’s been a long time coming, but here are just a few pictures of our Photographer
friend, Maalaea, with i and m photography. Sporting her own wedding gown from a couple years ago…
Well first of all, I try not to take myself too seriously so it's hard for me to think so hard about what I want to say about myself! I grew up in Florida with a large family of nine kids. My enitre family has Art running through their veins. My G-pa was a professional photographer (old school), Mom and Dad both have artistic qualities, and I think all of my sibblings have a knack for being creative one way or another! So here I am, married with children and wondering how in the world am I going to channel my passion into something beautiful, productive, fulfilling, and find bliss all at the same time!? But seriously, I sometimes feel like my photography is like my drug, ha ha ha. I am 5 years married with two sweet boys, 3 and 18 mo. (I'm going to have to keep that updated...). I love my family dearly, I love my beliefs and going to church, I'm a good girl, and I never INTEND to offend anybody :) Sarchasm is non-existant in my blood, so I can get very confused around it sometimes, but that's okay.
Why Photography? Oh goodness, I need an outlet, I LOVE people, I love love, and I LOVE adorable little baby fat rolls. I HAVE to create, I can't breathe without that. Though being a full time mom and homemaker takes up most of my time and energy, I just can't keep myself from obsessing and dreaming about being an amazing wedding Photographer. Over the past 3 years in the wedding industry, I feel like I've become a regular wedding junkie! By recognizing the latest styles and wedding trends, I am prepared to capture everything that was unique and beautiful at your wedding and wrap it all up into an amazing timeless package. And that amazing package is the work of art you will walk away with when the day is all said and done. How well do you want to remember?

February 11, 2010 - 12:23 pm - These are awesome Mel! So soft, I love them.
February 10, 2010 - 10:26 pm - Makes me want to shoot film. Just stunning! And I like that you included the b&w that is out of focus.
We celebrated Jackson’s 4th birthday over a month ago, and I just had to share this pic. Not only is it a great expression, but I love Henry’s little profile down in the corner as he’s mimicing his big brother’s muscle man face! SOOOO cute! Gosh, they grow too fast…
I shot this with Fugi 400, 35mm, and I love that it made my dim apartment look a little colorful!
Okay, so I am a couple months late, but here are a few of what I got from our “Click Chicks” Beach weekend. Our new friend, Kelly Goode brought this super cute little dress that worked for a trendy little bridal shoot! Also, a pat on my own back for the hair piece, as you CAN’T tell, it’s made out of a paper towel, tee hee. Anywho, thank you Kelly for being my test dummy as this was my second atempt at film and it was nerve racking. I try to be a fun person behind the camera, but I must admit I was a little unsure and probably looked very conscerned the whole time. But Kelly rocked it, a true model came out, and she was gorgeous without much instruction at all, and that takes talent!
Sigh, don’t you just want to feel his velvety hair!
BTW, this was taken at my ugly apartment with a shower curtain on the hide-a-bed and a
bed sheet draped over the back of the couch! Never would’a guessed, eh?
January 26, 2010 - 11:23 am - What a little sweetness!!! I cant wait to mee him!
January 25, 2010 - 1:28 pm - i love him!! gorgeous mel... wouldn't have expected anything less. can't wait to meet him in person :)
January 17, 2010 - 7:08 am - Oh, I do want to touch his velvety hair! And, thanks for the awesome tip to turn "ugly" into cool props! Great job, gals!
Just had to share this…Missy came over and took some more pictures of Michael.
Hope this makes you as happy as it does me…
January 14, 2010 - 4:08 pm - impossible to be as happy as you, the proud mommy ;)
Well, December was a crazy month! New baby, Holidays, and sick kids! Makes for one hectic month, but I have borne it well with the attitude of complete and total isolation. So I apologize for getting so behind and not responding to anybody for a while, but I honestly haven’t even checked my e-mail until today, well maybe I peaked on occasion, but I chose not to reply for my own sanity.
Michael is already a month old, and I can’t believe how time flew! Here are a few images my sister Missy took for us at the hospital (these are from her blog). She is an awesome photographer, and was happy to come and do it for me! She used all film, and I just love the results…
January 7, 2010 - 12:44 am - Congratulations, to you and your family! What a beautiful baby, and you look beautiful for photos...now that's just not fair! I love the pic of you kissing him. perfect.
January 5, 2010 - 4:39 pm - Melanie, What a beautiful mother you are. You and your son look great. I am glad you took some time for yourself. Every new mom needs that time. Hope everything else is going well. We miss you.
