The Person

Well first of all, I try not to take myself too seriously so it's hard for me to think so hard about what I want to say about myself!  I grew up in Florida with a large family of nine kids. My enitre family has Art running through their veins. My G-pa was a professional photographer (old school), Mom and Dad both have artistic qualities, and I think all of my sibblings have a knack for being creative one way or another! So here I am, married with children and wondering how in the world am I going to channel my passion into something beautiful, productive, fulfilling, and find bliss all at the same time!? But seriously, I sometimes feel like my photography is like my drug, ha ha ha. I am 5 years married with two sweet boys, 3 and 18 mo. (I'm going to have to keep that updated...). I love my family dearly, I love my beliefs and going to church, I'm a good girl, and I never INTEND to offend anybody :) Sarchasm is non-existant in my blood, so I can get very confused around it sometimes, but that's okay.

The Photographer

Why Photography?  Oh goodness, I need an outlet, I LOVE people, I love love, and I LOVE adorable little baby fat rolls. I HAVE to create, I can't breathe without that.  Though being a full time mom and homemaker takes up most of my time and energy, I just can't keep myself from obsessing and dreaming about being an amazing wedding Photographer.  Over the past 3 years in the wedding industry, I feel like I've become a regular wedding junkie!  By recognizing the latest styles and wedding trends, I am prepared to capture everything that was unique and beautiful at your wedding and wrap it all up into an amazing timeless package.  And that amazing package is the work of art you will walk away with when the day is all said and done.  How well do you want to remember?

My sweet Boys: Henry’s after bath

Well, we have been sick for a little over a week now, and my poor Henry has an ear infection from all of the congestion :(   But, I have been so happy because of my new mattress!  Now if only I could learn how to fall asleep at night as my brain doesn’t seem to have an off switch!  So, last night my determination to not lie there awake until 1:00am, I counted down from 100 about 3 times!  Every time I imaged the number I was counting and each number look me deeper and darker then the last.  Finally I found myself at 3, 2, 1, 0…and then I was just sitting in a little room in my brain.  I Imagined there being windows and light sheer curtains, quite pleasent.  I sat indian style in the middle of the empty room, and practiced great restrain by not allowing my thoughts to go anywhere else!   While sometime in my mental time-out, I found slumber.  Ahhh, it was amazing!

Also, in a moment of crazed bravory, I trimmed myself some bangs.  I think I love them, but I just don’t know yet, hmmmm.

Tim & Llama: Wedding Story

Well, it ’bout time I posted this wedding!  Tim & Llama were married Dec. 6th, 2008, and I just got so busy around the holidays that I never got around to posting their wedding story!  Well, here’s to a little catch-up work during the slow season to keep the blog exciting…

NAMES Llama Taylor (now Temple) and Tim Temple

LIVE IN Salem, OR

OCCUPATIONS She’s a social worker specializing as an Adolescent/Family Therapist and he’s a Commercial Plumber who helped build the new convention center, buildings at U of O and OSU, etc.

 NUMBER OF ATTENDEES ?? I don’t even know?  I’d guess around 175

NUMBER OF ATTENDANTS Eight bridesmaids and four groomsmen

HOW THEY MET Llama was out with a friend, and so was Tim.  The girls spotted the boys first.  Llama’s friend made eyes at his friend, the boys came over, and now all four of us are married!

THE ENGAGEMENT Despite growing up in Oregon, neither of us had ever been in a lighthouse. Tim proposed in Yaquina Head Lighthouse in the stinky oil room on our 2 year dating anniversary.

WHAT ATTRACTED HER TO HIM His eyes, his sense of humor, his sincerity, and his life goals

WHAT ATTRACTED HIM TO HER “Just the way you relate to me.”

A DATE THEY’LL ALWAYS REMEMBER On our second date we hated each other. J Llama was too eccentric, with vegetarian pizza and Sundance films, and Tim was impatient and not impressed.

WEDDING THEME Winter night with white lights and candles

WEDDING COLORS Moss green and metallic gold

WEDDING FLOWERS “Spicy” Roses and pussy willows

WEDDING CAKE Cream with a gold ribbon. White with Bavarian cream and chocolate with raspberry.

FAVORITE DETAIL Getting married in the middle of an old, gorgeously restored, barn.  Finding and tweaking the Celtic “tying the knot” tradition, and incorporating it into our ceremony.

THE MOST UNEXPECTED ELEMENT When one of the 5 flower girls (Llama’s 2 year old niece) veered left and started sprinkling rose petals over by the bar!  J

HOW THE WEDDING WAS DIFFERENT THAN THEY EXPECTED At the last minute we changed the song that we were going to dance to, then wished we wouldn’t have, as our song is “You are the Best Thing” by Ray Lamontagne.
