The Person

Well first of all, I try not to take myself too seriously, so it's hard for me to think about what I want to say about myself!  I grew up in Florida with a very large family.  My entire family has art running through their veins.  My grandfather was a professional photographer, Mom and Dad both have artistic talents, and all of my siblings have a knack for being creative one way or another.  so here I am, married with children and wondering how in the world I'm going to channel my passion for creativity into something beautiful, productive, fulfilling, and find joy all at the same time?  So, photography became the answer and a much needed outlet.

I love people, I love love, and I love adorable little baby fat rolls!  I have to be creating beautiful things at all times.  Though being a full time mother and homemaker takes up most of my time, I just can't keep myself from dreaming about being an amazing wedding photographer.

The Photographer

Over the past five years in the wedding industry, I feel like I have become a regular wedding junkie!  By recognizing the latest styles and trends, I am prepared to capture everything that is unique and fabulous at your wedding and wrap it all up into an amazing timeless package.  And that amazing package is the work of art you will walk away with when the day is all said and done.  How well do you want to remember it?

Recently I have also reached one of my ongoing goals of being published in a national wedding magazine.  They are but two small pictures, but I am so blessed none the less (baby steps!).  You may recognize some images from Kyle and Christina's Wedding at Gorge Crest Farms in Town & Country Weddings, Fall 2010 issue.  I have also been featured in a few wedding inspiration blogs such as Style Me Pretty, Snippet & Ink, Style Unveiled, and Marry You Me!

Justin & Sheena: E-Shoot!

Wow, I had a great time with these two on Monday!  They really warmed up for the camera and did some great stuff.  I LOVE when I don’t have to coach my couples to much…I think it also requires a little acting on their part.  I was talking to Sheena and pointing out that you just have to pretend that I’m not there and act like there’s NOBODY around to invade on all those special happy moments that a couple shares.  It’s so great when our couples understand that and feel comforable to go all out and be volnerable in front of the camera.  Thanks guys, I can’t wait for the wedding!

We started in downtown Corvallis, but all of my vary favorites are when we went to the field!!!!!  Enjoy…
They had two adorable and super well-behaved chocolate labs!

David & Nina: E-Session Sneek Peak!

Wow, the last two days have been extremely HOT!  We do not have A/C, so I have been trying to keep my house cool as a cave.  Closed windows, with all of my backdrops acting as extra curtains blocking the sun!  iT’S BEEN PRETTY BAD.  But, today was a great escape to go over to the Oregon coast where it will be perfect!

David and Nina are getting married July 12, 2008.  They are first to start the back-to-back weekend wedding season!  I enjoyed doing this shoot, we just did whatever came to our minds.  They are SUPER sweet together, and I could just tell that they are totally in love!  AND they were great kissers!  Just look at this first shot…

Jason & Karina: Sneak Peek

Yeay, Spring is finally shining! Although the weather has still been just a little unpredictable. As I was driving to meet these guys in dowtown Salem, it started pouring! I was tempted to call and cancel, but I just said to myself, “wait, you never know what’ll happen…” Sure enough, it was beautiful. I’ve had it happen too many times when I’ve cancelled a shoot and as soon as we would’ve started, the clouds part and the sun shines through, with angels singing…”Ooohh, yeeeeee of little faaaiiith…”
Enough fun, Here is a sneak peek for Jason and Karina. We had a lot of fun and got some amazing pictures! They were both naturals, and seemed truely comfortable in front of the camera. Jason was also okay with taking some shots with Karina’s second love, cute shoes and purses!

Thomas & Amber: E-Session Sneak Peek!

Today I had the joy of shooting this happy couple!  It really saved my day too.  I was really having a crummy day and I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to get my game on and rock it, but as soon as we started, I new that everything was going to be great!  I loved everything about this shoot, and they are both super photogenic.  Amber, you are so cute.  Thank you for saving my weekend:)

Jordan & Rachel: E-Session

So, my family and I woke up this moring feeling the sore throat-grogy head thing that’s been going around.  With some quick thinking, my husband calls his Mother who came up and helped us out!  It was fabulous…lemme tell ya.

Thanks to her, I was able to sleep a bunch, and gather enough energy to shoot Jordan and Rachel’s engagement pictures!  We had a blast, and speaking of counting your blessings, the clouds opened a little and stopped raining just enough to let us do it in the first place.  So, it was meant to be.  Jordan and Rachel were naturals when I just let them be.  Rachel is just a great person with a great family, and Jordan is very real and a down to earth guy.  Come to find out, I took art classes at the same community college that he had, so we got to share a little gossip about our good ‘ol Instructors (I really did enjoy all of my art teachers!!).

So, this is just a sneak peek. I tried some fun new places out here in Monmouth/Independence, and I’m also trying some new digital effects, even a little texture on one.  Let me know what you think!

John & Katie: E-Session

So, I posted a few from this shoot a few weeks ago, but I am putting up some more since they’ve seen them all now!  They are awesome, and I am so looking forward to their wedding coming up next month.  Katie found those rusted iron thingy’s by the railroad tracks and wanted to put them together to make a heart.  She is so creative!  (Scroll down to see the pictures from the previous post, they are smaller because they are from the old blog…ENJOY)

PS.  I was playing a lot with different back-lit effects, feel free to comment on which effects you liked or disliked and why…just for some feedback ;)
